Our story

Magic, friends & a table for eighteen

Bristol Magic Theatre started as a side project between three friends who love live magic. We wanted something small and personal, so we found a space in Clifton and turned it into an 18-seat theatre. These days it's Si and Gosia running it. Sam, the third founder, now runs the Adelaide Magic Theatre in Australia.

Guests seated in a half-circle of chairs around the single table, watching Si perform in the plant-filled theatre

One table, eighteen chairs

You sit in a half-circle around a single table, with a soundtrack Si designed himself and a lot of small details Gosia has thought about. There’s no stage and no rows of seats, so it feels more like a room than a venue. Most people come for a date night or a weekend treat, and plenty have never seen live magic before.

The shows are up close and you will be part of them, but it’s all relaxed. Sleight of hand, storytelling, mind reading and daft humour, all happening at the table. Never the same twice.

“Magic and wonder, stories and laughter shared with a tiny roomful of strangers.”

Meet the team

Si and Gosia

Si, founder and magician at Bristol Magic Theatre

Si

Magician & mind reader

Si has performed close-up magic for over 20 years, everywhere from the Magic Castle in Hollywood to the largest toy museum in Mexico, with Dubai, Adelaide and Edinburgh in between.

Gosia, creative director and visual artist at Bristol Magic Theatre

Gosia

Creative director

Gosia trained in visual arts in Poland, England and at Bauhaus University in Weimar. She designed the look of the theatre. The room feels the way it does because of her.

Come and see for yourself

We’d be glad to have you. Eighteen seats a show, and they usually go early.
